Bushland project
Established, Easter 2007, Gully Grove, is five acres of bushland, in Upper Lockyer, South-East Queensland.
Over the decade since, our population of Eastern-grey kangaroos, demonstrated how to live here effectively. As only hardwood trees wanted to flourish. Ambitions of lush gardens, on limited rainfall and scorching heat, were thwarted every year. You've got to be tough to grow anything in bushland. Let alone, make it home!
Yet our property became a haven, for a mob of female kangaroos nonetheless. They constantly raised their Joey's around us. A reminder that life could still flourish here. So, did we. Those hardwood trees were used in a myriad of landscaping projects, constantly gave free mulch, and eventually inspired us to think bigger!
So this is our bushland project. A landscape which is often harsh, but always enduring.
